Cornus kousa ‘Wolf Eyes’ is considered by many to be one of the best variegated forms of kousa dogwood. ‘Wolf Eyes’ has a shrubby, broad-spreading habit. Bergenia ciliata has fuzz-covered leaves and bears greater resemblance to an African violet than its smooth-surfaced relatives. Leaves can reach up to 12 inches on this clump-forming perennial. While cold hardy, flowers and young leaves are frost-sensitive. Bergenia ciliata, an unusual and choice perennial for partly sunny, moist sites, will be available at the Scott Associates Plant Sale. The leaves of Canna Tropicanna^® are a kaleidoscope of color. Hues ranging from red, orange, maroon, green, pink, and cream can be found on a single leaf. Cannas are fantastic summer tropicals that perform well both in containers and in the ground. After frost, cut back the foliage and lift the rhizomes. Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Tokyo Delight’, seen here on a sunny day at Wave Hill, is a robust shrub reaching 4-5 feet in height with an equal spread. Sterile white florets, often spotted with flecks of pink, radiate around pink or blue fertile flowers.
