Travels @ 12: Iceland and Its Not-So-Icy Plants

February 16, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

FREE

Iceland is a land of otherworldly experiences, landscapes, and difficult to pronounce names. Mackenzie Knight-Fochs and her husband spent seven days in August 2022 taking in as many waterfalls, volcanic vistas, glaciers, and plants as possible. As a volcanic island, much of the flora is as diminutive as one feels when surrounded by vast natural expanses, but does not disappoint.

Travels @ 12 is an online series for plant enthusiasts to vicariously experience gardens and natural spaces throughout the world. Registration is free but required. The webinar link will be included in the confirmation email received after registering online. Email us if you have accessibility needs for this program.

Mackenzie Knight-Fochs is the Education Programs Manager for the Scott Arboretum and an avid traveler both domestically and abroad. Whenever she travels, plants are always part of the itinerary and many of her trips have been connected to expanding her horticultural education.
