Nature Printing Greeting Card Workshop
November 4, 2023 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
CanceledJoin Laura Bethmann, artist and author of Hand Printing from Nature, to create a beautiful set of notecards and envelopes using printing inks and natural materials from the Arboretum. This centuries-old art and science of directly printing inked botanicals is an intriguing process. It is perfect for sending personalized greetings for the holidays, special occasions, friendly notes, or for gift giving. Greeting cards were exchanged in ancient China and Egypt, in Europe since the 1400s, and the practice found its way here with the early colonists. Continue this lovely tradition of handmade greetings during this workshop! No experience required; all supplies included with registration.

About the Presenter
Laura Bethmann is a watercolor painter who gardens, prints plants, and writes books, including Nature Printing and Hand Printing From Nature. Her original watercolor paintings and original nature print paintings are in many collections and are exhibited in museums and galleries.
Laura’s deep appreciation for nature, Master Gardener training, and continual research inform her work as an artist, author, and workshop leader. When not tending her garden or visiting gardens, she can most often be found squirreled away working in her studio, which is located in a tiny southern New Jersey town between the Pine Barrens (an International Biosphere Reserve) and the coast.
