Gardens & Tonic: Día de los Muertos and the Scott Arboretum

October 26, 2023 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a holiday traditionally celebrated in Mexico and other South American countries centered around honoring and remembering the lives of departed loved ones. At the Scott Arboretum, we have adapted the traditional ofrenda to honor and remember the lives of those who have contributed to the garden. Join Gardener Sandra Lopez Cortez to explore this holiday, its horticultural connections and elements, and how the Scott Arboretum honors the holiday.

Gardens & Tonic is a series of virtual webinars about plant-related topics, including adventures, stories, art, and garden design. Grab your favorite beverage and join us to explore the world of plants from a new perspective. Presentations are generally 30 to 45 minutes long and with time at the end for questions and answers.

Registration is free, but required to receive the Zoom webinar and recording links.
