About the Presenter
Nicky Pasterfield has a background in both classical fine art and hand painted floral design. In 2012 she won the Royal Academy of Art’s national draftsmanship scholarship, taking her to study the masters at the Museo del Prado, Madrid. Following this, she took up a position as a printmaker for brand Anthropologie in Philadelphia where she learned the ins and outs of exquisite print making for clothing. She taught a short course, ‘Floral Painting for Design’ at Central St. Martin’s 2020-2021 and her hand painted textile designs have been used by Crate and Barrel, JCrew and House of CB. In December 2018, she was featured in a six page spread in The World of Interiors for her work assisting Alasdair Peebles on the large Chinese Wallpaper in Pitzhanger Manor in Ealing (open to the public). Her studio is now in Philadelphia, where she focuses on hand painted floral designs for interiors as well as portraiture. Her latest portrait was exhibited at The Royal Society of Portrait Painters show 2021, Mall Galleries, London. For updates, find her on Instagram as @NickyPasterfield
