Arboretum Highlights Tour: Tree Peony Delights

One of the first collections at the Arboretum after it was founded in 1929, the gorgeous flowers of the tree peony are a highlight every May. Enjoy the early evening ambiance while learning about the different types of tree peony hybrids in our collection from Jeff Jabco, Director of Grounds and Coordinator of Horticulture. Arboretum Highlights Tours are for gardeners of all levels and feature plants and landscapes that are at their peak. Tours begin at the Scott Arboretum offices and are free and open to the public.

Jeff Jabco, Director of Grounds and Coordinator of Horticulture, has been on staff since 1990. Before coming to Swarthmore, he worked for Penn State University Cooperative Extension as a horticulture agent in southeastern Pennsylvania; he also owned and operated a garden design and vegetable production business. He is a graduate of Penn State University and has a Master’s degree from North Carolina State University in Horticulture/Plant Breeding and Plant Pathology.
