Blooms of the Season: Plant Sale Edition IV

Our final Plant Sale inspired Blooms of the Season is enlivening the shade garden. Hydrangea quercifolia ‘Little Honey’ lightens up shade with unusually rich, golden yellow foliage. Shown here with the large leaves of hosta and the dainty white flowers of Euphorbia ‘Diamond Frost’, ‘Little Honey’ foliage holds its color through summer and transitions into chartreuse before a brilliant burgundy for the fall.

This cultivar was given the name little because of its diminutive stature. A sprout of ‘Pee Wee’, it only reaches a height of 3 to 5 feet and a spread of 3 to 4 feet. This small shrub still produces 6 to 8 inch panicles blooms on old wood.
