Asclepias physocarpa , grown at Longwood Gardens summer 2010, is commonly known as balloon flower or swan plant due to the inflated seed pods.  This South African native reaches 6’ in height and will be available at the Unusual Tropicals and Annuals Sale on May 21 and 22. photo credit: J. Coceano
