Fall Peony Party

October 19 @ 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Free

Co-Hosted with the Mid-Atlantic Peony Society

Celebrate peonies this fall! Start the afternoon learning from nationally-recognized peony hybridizer and past President of the American Peony Society, Nate Bremer. Then, enjoy camaraderie with fellow peony aficionados during the reception and peony auction.

Presentation Information:

Confessions of a Hybridizer: Successes and Numerous Failures

Nate’s experience hybridizing plants (orchids, daylilies and peonies) has been a lifelong journey with many twists and turns. Peonies have consumed much of his time for the last 30 years and have provided tremendous enjoyment along the way. Hybridizing new cultivars has been an obsession (ask his wife – Kim) and the journey has been one of great joy, disappointment, labor, education and sometimes pain!

Join Nate in his peony hybridizing journey. Get inside information from creating some “other worldly” new cultivars to painful lessons, like using herbicides to control weeds in seedling plantings. Nate looks forward to sharing some of his hard learned lessons along with great peony images!

Event Schedule:

1:00 pm: Presentation by Nate Bremer, followed by Q & A (In-Person and Virtual options)

2:30 – 4:30 pm: Reception and Peony Auction (In-Person only)
