Gardens and Tonic: Bedrock Gardens – The Journey from a Private Sanctuary to a Community Refuge
April 8, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
FreeJoin Jill Nooney for a story of how two people created a 37-acre garden over 35 years culminating in its becoming a public garden. Jill is the problem maker and Bob Munger is the problem solver. Jill has a ton of ideas and is impatient to see them realized; Bob chews on problems like a happy hound reluctant to give up. Jill made her first garden when she was 9. Bob built a Ham radio when he was 13. Together they have hand-built a 37-acre garden on land that was an abandoned dairy farm in Southern New Hampshire—she provided the vision and plant knowledge and he the ‘know how’ and perseverance. Bedrock Gardens is an oasis of horticulture, art, and inspiration.
Gardens and Tonic is a series of virtual webinars with horticulture professionals. Grab your favorite beverage and join Julie Jenney from the Scott Arboretum and a featured horticulture professional for plant-related topics, adventures, and stories – as well as design-focused talks on private and public gardens. Time will be set aside to answer your questions.
Registration is free but required. Participants must have Zoom downloaded on their computer and be comfortable using it. The webinar link will be included in the confirmation email received after registering online.
